Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the substance was most likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in relation with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior political figure commented the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
